Born and raised in Wolverhampton, England — the city of dreams, if you asked Guppy — he was a devoted father to his 9-year-old son, Dillon, for whom he wrote Lucky Crumble Down.

The fantasy novel grew from their shared adventures, jokes, and wonderfully imaginative conversations. It was his gift to Dillon — a world where magic misbehaves, logic takes holidays, and humour is the only sensible way to survive.

Guppy was the centre of his family, a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He is remembered for his kindness, generosity, and limitless imagination.
